Terms of Use

By downloading or using the Teleprompter App, these terms automatically apply to you. Please read them carefully before using the app.

License

You’re not allowed to copy, modify, or redistribute the app, any part of the app, or our trademarks in any way. You’re not allowed to attempt to extract the source code of the app, and you shouldn’t try to translate the app into other languages or create derivative versions. The app itself, and all the trademarks, copyright, database rights, and other intellectual property rights related to it, belong to Andy Chung.

Changes to the App

Andy Chung is committed to making the app as useful and efficient as possible. We reserve the right to make changes to the app or to charge for its services at any time and for any reason. We will never charge you for the app or its services without making it very clear to you exactly what you’re paying for.

Your Data and Device Security

The Teleprompter App stores and processes data that you provide to it in order to deliver its features. It is your responsibility to keep your phone and your access to the app secure. We therefore recommend that you do not jailbreak or root your phone, which is the process of removing software restrictions and limitations imposed by the official operating system of your device. It could make your phone vulnerable to malware, viruses, or other malicious programs, compromise your phone’s security features, and may mean that the Teleprompter App won’t work properly or at all.

Third-Party Services

The app uses third-party services that declare their own terms and conditions. By using the app you also agree to the relevant terms of:

DeepSeek (https://www.deepseek.com) — AI script generation provider for users in mainland China.
OpenRouter (https://openrouter.ai) — AI script generation provider for users in other regions.
Apple StoreKit — Apple’s in-app purchase and subscription system.
Apple iCloud (CloudKit) — used when you enable cloud sync.
Firebase Analytics (Google) — anonymous usage analytics.

AI-Generated Content

The app’s AI Script Writing and AI Polish features use third-party large language models to generate or rewrite text based on the topic, keywords, and other inputs you provide. By using these features you acknowledge and accept the following:

You must explicitly opt in before any input is sent to an AI provider. The app shows a consent dialog naming the provider that will receive your data; nothing is transmitted until you tap “Allow”. You can revoke consent at any time in Settings → AI Data Sharing.
AI output may be inaccurate, biased, or inappropriate. Large language models can produce content that is factually wrong, outdated, offensive, or otherwise unsuitable. You are responsible for reviewing and editing any AI-generated content before relying on or publishing it.
You retain ownership of your input and, subject to the AI provider’s terms, of the output you generate. You are responsible for ensuring that your input and your use of the output comply with all applicable laws, third-party rights, and the AI provider’s acceptable-use policies.
No professional advice. AI-generated scripts are not legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice.
Quotas may apply. Free-tier users are subject to a daily AI usage quota; Pro users have an expanded quota as described in the app.

Subscriptions and In-App Purchases

The Teleprompter App offers auto-renewing subscriptions and optional one-time purchases through Apple StoreKit. By purchasing, you agree to the following:

Auto-renewal — your subscription automatically renews at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase and at each renewal.
Free trials — if a free trial is offered, any unused portion of the trial is forfeited if you purchase a subscription during the trial period.
Managing your subscription — you can manage or cancel subscriptions at any time in iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period; no partial refunds are issued for periods already paid.
Restoring purchases — previous purchases tied to your Apple ID can be restored via the “Restore Purchase” option in the app’s settings.
Refunds — refund requests are handled by Apple under Apple’s refund policy. Andy Chung cannot issue refunds directly.

Internet Connection and Charges

Certain functions of the app require an active internet connection — including AI script generation, iCloud sync, and subscription validation. The connection can be Wi-Fi or your mobile network. Andy Chung cannot take responsibility for the app not working at full functionality if you don’t have Wi-Fi or data available.

If you’re using the app outside of an area with Wi-Fi, you should remember that the terms of the agreement with your mobile network provider will still apply. You may be charged by your mobile provider for the cost of data, including roaming charges if you use the app outside your home territory without disabling data roaming. If you are not the bill payer for the device on which you’re using the app, we assume that you have received permission from the bill payer.

Limitation of Liability

Andy Chung cannot always take responsibility for the way you use the app — for example, you need to make sure that your device stays charged, and if it runs out of battery, Andy Chung cannot accept responsibility.

Although we endeavor to ensure that the app is updated and correct at all times, we rely on third parties to provide certain information and services. Andy Chung accepts no liability for any loss, direct or indirect, that you experience as a result of relying on the app, including AI-generated content.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the app is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind.

App Updates and Termination

We may update the app from time to time. The app is currently available on iOS — the system requirements may change, and you’ll need to download updates to keep using it. Andy Chung does not promise that updates will always be relevant to you or work with every iOS version. By using the app, you agree to accept updates when offered. Andy Chung may also discontinue the app at any time without notice. Upon termination, the rights and licenses granted to you in these terms will end, and you must stop using the app and remove it from your device.

Changes to These Terms

I may update these Terms of Use from time to time. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. Changes will be reflected by updating the effective date below.
